The Golden Copernicus Award:

Ceremonial presentation of awards

Justification:

  1. The award-winning films are strongly in line with the program slogan of this year’s festival – Films Against War. They are of a high artistic and realization level.
  2. The films show in a very real way the madness of war, which is a source of suffering, where all barriers disappear, but man is left with his ”yes” to life and his opposition to terror.
  3. The award-winning films are not morality plays, but show that in the dark times of war there is also room for selfless, sincere and pure love, solidarity, compassion and concern for others. It is difficult to move on to everyday life after watching these films. These stories hurt and ask the question – what does it mean to be human?
  4. Noteworthy is the creative consistency of the directors, who carried out their idea in a non-trivial way, finding the key to understanding and entering into the story.

The Jury, appreciates the work of the Festival Program Board, which made the selection and choice of films for the main competition. It is also impossible not to appreciate the efforts of the organizers, who have found a formula for carrying out a festival of such enormous scope. The Warsaw EDUKINO festival speaks more and more in its own language and shows a wider audience exceptional films that touch on the most important issues, asking us all about the meaning of our lives. And if it is difficult, and suffering and fear are breathtaking – have courage! And for this we thank the filmmakers and the festival organizers.
